Hello and Happy Sunday…

Hello Everyone…Hope you are all doing wonderful!! It’s been a bit since I’ve posted…..just seems to be one thing after another which keeps me side tracked…..

More health issues to deal with….but I’m placing it in the Lord’s hands and know HE is in control….

So…..I am proud to say I did a HUGE purge in my ARTHaven….it got to the point I felt so overwhelmed by all the “stuff” I had …it put a bind in all of my creative mojo I just couldn’t deal any longer….I have to admit…this has been a HUGE release for me…..I can honestly say I feel a huge weight has been lifted from me…and it’s opening the doors for me to be creative again…so between the purge and the Eco Printer I have….I actually PLAYED this weekend for the first time in MONTHS AND MONTHS and truly had the best time…was very relaxing……I now have the loft as my ARTHaven for my creative space…and the other half space is my youngest granddaughter’s play area…

She loves the idea of her area being up here with her Nana….so she can play and I can play and she just has the best time…. 😉

Thought I would share with you a card I made this weekend….I had a lot of fun creating it and had rekindled my love for cardmaking…..

Didn’t it turn out soft and romantic???? I just love it….Between my Silhouette Cameo and my amazing printer….I am in heaven!!! 😉

I also created some ATC’s for an upcoming swap in a amazing group I’m trio owner of….I’ll share a link to the group below in case anyone would like to come over and join us…but….first…here’s the ATC’s I made today as well….

Didn’t these also turn out pretty…I just love them…..I put Wink of Stella on the butterflies and some Glossy Accents on the body of them….there’s a lot of dimension to these as well…..

Thought I would also share a pic of my Tator Tot this morning when she woke up from spending the nite with Nana and Papa…she wanted to play in her area before she went home…..

Ok….now….to the details on the group I’m “Trio-Owner” of….it’s called CreatingARTFriendships….we found a new group site called .IO and it’s wonderful….so much better then the Yahoo Groups….and we do not like Facebook…so this has become a WONDERFUL solution…..would love to have you come join us if you think you would love to interact with a group of creative ladies who love to chit chat and also swap……

So……that’s it for me for the this evening…have an embroidery hoop swap to work on this week…and a washi tape swap as well….don’t these swaps sound fun???? We sure would love to have you come over and join us…..we LOVE to chat…did I mention that!!! ;). I would like to thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me…..I hope you enjoyed your stay…and I do hope you’ll come by and visit again soon….Wishing you a very blessed week!!! Until next time…

Long time….no post….

Hello Hello Everyone!! WOW…..where does the time go……it just amazes me how fast the days roll by……..I was on vacation 2 weeks ago and had alot of fun spending the week in my ARTHaven….had full intention of sharing all the fun that I had created while off and the time got away from me……so I thought I would sit down and get caught up…… 😉

This past vacation was probably one of my most fun one’s of all time!!! I got really friendly with my embroidery machine……..thanks for my wonderful children who were more than happy to give mom ideas of things to work on to learn my machine!! LOL

I decided I wanted to work up a special shirt for both of my granddaughters…….Bree and “Tator Tot” …..love these girls to the moon and back…….Bree is a preteen and I knew she didn’t really want “cutsie” so I found this camoflauge tank top and decided to put a monogram on it for her…..

She was absolutely thrilled with it and has already worn it several times!!!  Makes this Nana Innie SO PROUD!!! 😉

So then I got brave and really stretched my creativity……and I designed something a bit more involved for my “Tator Tot”…….the theme of her room is owls…..so I took that idea and went with it……Hubby and I are called her Grand Popz and Nana….AWESOME titles don’t ya think!! 😉  So here’s what I designed for her…..

It fit Tator Tot perfectly and her mom LOVED it!!!!  So they were both a HUGE success!!!
Then my DIL had brought a bunch of her shirts over for me to use to “test” out monograms on……so I worked up several different designs and stitched them onto her tops……here’s how they turned out…

Whew…….that was alot huh!!! LOL  But she really did love how they all turned out…and I know I was so glad to have them all done!!! 😉
Sooooooooooooo….after I had all those done I wanted to do something for my future DIL (my youngest son’s fiance)……she LOVES elephants……..and I wanted it to be something super special….so here’s what I came up with…..

Didn’t it turn out SUPER CUTE!!!!  She absolutely LOVED it….made me so happy happy happy!!!
I have to say I’ve fallen in love with my embroidery machine and have gotten rather good at making embroidery files……so I decided to start making them and listing them on My ETSY Store……So I figured why not start out with the files I created to make all the above designs…….So if you find something you might like I would love for you to visit my store……
OMGoodness….Are you still here????  Lots of files huh…..LOL  Sorry about that…..but I wanted to be sure to get the new ones I’ve recently listed in my store….will be making lots more…..so if you love using embroidery files….I would love for you to check back……
NOW…….on to paper!!! Believe it or not I actually played some with that as well……Thought I would share some little things I did accomplish….I joined an ATC in the ATT Yahoo Group……and love how it turned out…..Here’s the background I started out with……this is a Prima page…..love it just as it is…..but wanted to start using my stamps more……so I went to town….

Here’s what I came out with once I finsihed stamping, distressing and blending…. 😉

For the birds on the branch I stamped it out then used the Scan and Cut Technique with my Silver Bullet Professional cutter and SCAL4……works SO awesome!!!  Then I decided to also cut a few layers of chipboard and make the base of the birds thicker…….

My Silver Bullet Professional cutter does such a wonderful job cutting chipboard!!! I really do like how this ATC turned out….used all kinds of craft goodness in supplies….and it felt great to get inky again……So I played a bit more and created a card…….had ALOT of fun with this one!!!!!

I did the resist type of technique with a leaf stamp……and then the same for the Friends Forever stamp…. Used Distress Inks and some twine and VOILA…..all done….I love how this turned out as well…….
WHEW!!!! Are you still here????? I’m FINALLY done!!! LOL …So sorry for the loooooonnnnnggggg post…but I wanted to get all caught up!!!!  I sure hope you might like what you saw…and I want to THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit with me…….Means way more then you know!!!  I do hope you’ll stop by again…….until then….I wish you a very blessed week!!

Happy Saturday One and All……

Good Morning Everyone…..First I would like to send a heartfelt cyber hug to all of those who were in the path of the HORRIBLE tornados  that terrorized so many AGAIN last night!!!! This has been such a horrid 2 weeks for so many in the middle US….I am praying it is finally coming to an end!!!!!
I have actually created a few things the past couple of days and had fun creating them……just thought I would share them with you……the first is a Tag I needed to make for my ARTHaven Creations and Friendship group…….it was to be based on Spring and needed to involve flowers in some manner….now you all KNOW I love me some flowers!!! So I had some fun with this swap….here’s what I came up with….

I watched a video tutorial the other day of someone creating a background using some of the Tim Holtz Distress Paints and a stamp (in my case I used an acrylic stamp) and 2 colors of paints…….
Here’s the link to the video I watched…..I just know you’re going to love the idea too…
So after I created my background I then added additional “layers” by embossing with one of my Anna Griffin Embossing Folders and my Ebosser then used a couple different colors of distress ink and my distress sponges and colored to give more depth……that finished up the tag base……
I also decided I wanted to try and begin to utilize my acrylic stamps more….so I pulled out a couple I liked and stamped them out on to some paper and then scanned them and brought the image into my Sure Cuts A lot 3 program to create a shadow layer of with my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter so I could cut out the shape and then stamp my acrylic stamp onto them……LOVE this and will definitely be doing more and more of this cause I am enjoying using my stamps this way…..

I used some of my distress reinkers and a touch of water and a brush to color in the stamped images……attached these pieces directly to the  tag and then added some of my previously handmade flowers to the tag…added some lace and ribbon to the top of the tag…..and a couple of My Handmade Butterflies…..and Voila!!!  Tag is finished!!!  I sure hope Chrystal enjoys the tag!!!  I had fun making it!!!
Then I needed to work on my ATC’s for the group…and again the theme was to be Spring and involve flowers……I wanted to use more acrylic stamps so I did the same technique as listed above about stamping, scanning and creating a shadow cut then stamping onto the cut…….then colored in the same manner as well…..I also stamped some images onto the background paper I picked…….Here’s what I ended up with…..

I did NOT make the roses that are on the ATC’s…I decided to use up some old stash I had of little flowers…..as I prefer to make my own…but these had been in my drawers for along time…..they were the perfect size I needed….so I used them…….but I think the ATC’s turned out cute….don’t you?????
Okie Dokie….So…that catches me up for now!!!!! OH OH OH……I ALSO wanted to share just ONE more thing with you all…since I received so many congratulations from so many of you about my oldest son’s engagement and wedding I wanted to show you a picture of the HAPPY HAPPY couple on their wedding day!!! I’m one proud mama!!!!
This is my wonderful family!!!!!  Isn’t my new DIL and granddaughter BEAUTIFUL!!!! And my sweet DIL is 6 months pregnant with my other granddaughter who should be here in September!!!!  The Lord has so blessed my family!!!!!  As you can see my family is VERY laid  back and “redneck” and that works for us!!! LOL

Ok…..NOW I’m done!!!! LOL  Bet you thought you would NEVER get to the end huh!!!! LOL  IF you stayed with me….THANK YOU so very very much!!!! Hope you enjoyed your visit…and I do hope you will come by again…..I wish you all a VERY SAFE and blessed weekend!!!! Until next time!!

My Weekend Zoooommmmmeeedddd By…….

But BOY Did I have ALOT of fun….spent it in my ARTHaven ALL weekend…..felt SO wonderful to let my creative mojo start playing again!!!!!  I had 2 ATC swaps I’m involved in that I needed to work on……so I decided that was a good place to start……..thought I would share with you what I created…….

Here’s the first one I made…..

Nothing really fancy about this card….I had previously scanned some Graphics 45 papers I had purchased and decided to resize the page a bit so I can utilize the graphics in an ATC size…it was alot of fun!!!  I printed all the pieces with my Epson 1100 Workforce Wide Format Printer……I’m so impressed with the quality of this printer……I then used some Frosted Lace stickles on the egg….gives it a fun sparkle……and some corner fabric mounts and one rose corner mount…..used foam tape to raise the layers…….and of course I hit the edges with Versamagic Jumbo Java ink…….I think it turned out kinda cute…..
Then here’s my next one…..I think this is my favorite……

This ATC was so fun to make!!! I had ALOT of fun with this one….first I decided I wanted to use some jar graphics I had….so I resized them to the size I wanted them……printed them off and cut out….I wanted to give them more a of a realistic look to them so I decided to add some wire for the stems of the roses…….so I took my craft knife and cut tiny slits on the “top” of the jar and just below the “rim” of the jar…..then threaded the wires through….to give the affect the wires were really inside the jar……but then what to do to cover the wire….well first I tried coating with a thick layer of Glossy Accents……..so I did that to 2 of them…It was “ok” but I wasn’t overly thrilled with the end result…..for one….it didn’t stay mound up like I really wanted and second…it took WAY to long to dry!!! LOL…..I’m one who wants quick results….So I decided to take some Perfect Medium..coated the “jar” then used multiple layers of UTEE…of course heating in between layers…..while it was still “wet” I had to carefully hold the wire “under” the UTEE so when it set you couldn’t feel the wires…….I REALLY REALLY am happy with the end results…..turned out just as I had envisioned….
Now the roses I used are NOT my PDC Roses….I had some little Prima roses on hand so thought I would just use those…..I’m “trying” to get better at using up what I have on hand…….I just snipped off the wire from the roses then glued with my glue gun over the top of the DCWV French Country Stack PS-005-00164 onto the card base………I used one of my acrylic stamps and stamped the message with Timber Brown Stazon Ink….the background paper was some I had on hand….I believe it’s from ……on the edges I used the ink distressing technique using 2 TH Distress Inkpads…I believe they were Worn Lipstick and Shabby Shudders……..and then to finish off I added one of my PDC Butterflies that I’ve made………I think it has a big impact…..What about you????? I know I sure had alot of fun making them….
Then I decided I wanted to start on a project that I KNOW is going to take me a bit of time to finish ……..I’m really having a fun with this project and can’t wit to show you the finished piece!!!!!  I can tell you that I will have a file or two to share with you once it’s all completed………….so hope you’ll come back to check….
But I also wanted to share with you that I used one of my Pen Tool holders for my Black Cat “Raven” and used a Copic .10 marker to draw out the words before I cut out the shapes…..LOVED the results……this is something I’ve not used as much as I should…but do plan to start doing more….just LOVE the look of it……So now I’m looking forward to getting home from work so I can work on my project more……I hope you like it when it’s all done!!! 😉
Okie Dokie Artichokie!!! 🙂  Think that catches me up for the day….Feels SO good to do a post having creating something!!!!!  As always I want to THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit with me….Means WAY more then you know….I do hope you’ll come by again and I would like to wish you all a VERY blessed day!!! Until next time…..

It’s FRIDAY and I played with paper!!!

Hey Everyone….How is that for the  start of a weekend!!! I’m so proud of myself!!
I needed to get my ATC’s done on time this month for the swap I host monthly in my ARTHaven Creations & Friendships group…I wanted to try and use some of my supplies that I’ve been hoarding forever and just usually don’t use……so the first thing was to FORCE and I do mean FORCE myself to use some of the most GORGEOUS handmade paper that a very very dear friend of mine…Chrystal Schilling makes….check out here store here….http://www.craftstudiopaper.com/Handmade_Paper.html
When I tell you I’m hoarding it…..LOL I’m not kidding..she dated one set she sent me…..it’s dated 2009!!!! And why do I hoard it….BECAUSE like these I made….I used my most favorite piece that was white with purple all through…with real flower pieces in it….It’s SO PRETTY!!!!!
I wanted to stamp on it and use some of my Faber Castelle Gelatos….I’ve probably had these for well over a year….and never used them……You know what…they are SUPER SUPER easy and FUN to use!!!!  I used some stamps….just took the gelatos and colored directly onto the stamps…..then right before stamping I spritz with water and then stamp….super super fun and EASY!!!!
The handmade paper by Chrystal Schilling took the stamping SO WELL with the Distress Ink in the Black Soot and also the Faber Castelle Gelatos….and I went around the edges of the paper with some Crushed Olive Distress Ink and my ink distresser…….used a bit of ribbon….one of my PDC Roses and a couple of purchased roses I’ve had in my stash for eons….wanna see how the ATC’s turned out????

Okie Dokie…That does it for me tonight….I hear my pillow calling my name…Must have my rest so I can play with paper some more!!!!   Thank you SO much for stopping by to visit with me!!! I pray you all have a very blessed weekend and I hope you’ll come by and visit with me again….Until next time…

Happy Happy Monday!!!!

Hey Everyone….I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend!!!!  It was a very nice for the most part all weekend long!!!  NO severe weather so that was definitely a plus!!!!
I had a wee bit of playing this weekend…..I was trying to decided how to handle my website……I’ve made the decision to retain my blog as it is…..since it’s what everyone is used to……but have made some slight modifications……You’ll see at the top of my blog there is now a tab for CLASSES…..As I decide on what kind of classes to offer I will add  the selections to this page……that way they’ll be easy to find……I’ve decided the best solution for me is to use a combination of Skype and Sky Remote….if you’ve not heard or used them before….here’s the links for them below……

They’re both pretty cool programs!!!  You might want to check them out if you haven’t before….
In regards to my cut files…..I made a tough choice to just relist them on my ETSY store…..I’m trying to group big collections for those who might have been interested in certain categories over others……as well as listing some individually…IF you have a particular file that you are interested in and I don’t have it listed…you’re always welcome to email me and I can get it posted on my ETSY store……It’s just a process that is going to take along time to complete….I just decided I was not happy with the way Google Docs handled the files and choose not to use a paid system to host all of my files to distribute…I pray you all can understand that!!!  I enjoy creating and do plan to continue but will handle in the manner in the future…..Thank you all for understanding…..
So after all of that getting sorted I did need to work on an ATC swap for my ARTHaven group that I am a wee bit late on….Oooooppppsss…..And of all things for the theme to have been… WINTER!!! LOL And we’re all ready for spring….hehehe…so just one last piece to finish off the winter season right…LOL  I had fun doing this…I knew I didn’t want to use usual winter colors……and I love the grungy kind of look……so here’s what I came up with…..

I  had a lot of fun creating this piece…..used several techniques on this and lots of TH goodies…..Distress Inks, Tissue Tape, Alcohol Inks….lots of fun!!!!
I created my own mask with some plastic sheets that I get from AllThatJazzSupplies.com  You can find them here…. http://allthatjazzsupplies.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=46 it’s really great quality plastic and cuts like butter with my Black Cat Lynx cutter named “Sable”….I cut it in a 21/2” x 31/2” size and you can see the amazing cut I got from the piece……..

On this piece you might notice I ran through my Xyron sticker machine so I could tack it to my piece I wanted to mask …..I really like the way the edges of the ATC’s looked……then I cut more of them out and ran through a snowflake embossing folder then colored with alcohol inks and my cotton pads using the same color tones and the distress inks I used…and colored the snowflakes this way as well…..
For the background of the ATC itself I did the resist technique with some snowflake acrylic stamps I have……such a simple step but what a wonderful effect  you achieve……and colored with Distress Inks in Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky, Vintage Photo & Mustard Seed……love the vintagy look of how it turned out……
For the stamped piece I scanned the stamp to create the exact circle shadow piece I needed and cut out with “Sable” and then stamped and embossed my image onto a pre-distress inked piece….I stamped in Vintage Photo then dipped in embossing powder and embossed……I used tissue tape in little loops behind and then backed that with another circle to secure…..used foam dots to adhere to my piece…..Oh yeah…a note on attaching the plastic layer…I used some clear adhesive dots on the piece that would not show and then placed my stamped piece over it…..
I added the snowflakes to the top of the stamped piece and added  a bit of ribbon behind it…..I really am happy with the end result……what do you think????
Not really what you would think of as Winter though huh!!! LOL   Hopefully the recipients will like it…..
Okie Dokie….I “think” this catches me up for the day……it’s another working world day…..but I would much rather be right her in my ARTHaven!!!  I, as always….want to say THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit with me…..I pray you have a VERY blessed day….Please do come by again…until then….

We come to another Sunday…..

Hey Everyone….I  trust you’ve all been blessed with a wonderful weekend!!!  My they just seem to go by so quickly don’t they!!!!
Well….I think I had a productive weekend…..thought I didn’t create any new files in the creation of the following pieces…I did have a lot of fun playing with paper…and hope you’ll still enjoy seeing them even without new files…..It’s been so long since I’ve done this much creating in one weekend!!! LOL
So the first thing I needed to work on were some ATC’s for my ATC Swap I host every month in my ARTHaven Creations & Friendships group……this months’ theme was Hearts/Love….so here’s what I came up with……

I really love the softness these seem to have…..with a bit of grungy…..I ‘m quite happy with these…I hope the recipients will be….
So…the next thing I had to work on was a Hangie Dangle swap…..again in my ARTHaven Group…Now before I show you this I’ll go ahead and say I struggled with this….just couldn’t come up with an idea I really liked…..but I ended up with something I like….not love….but like….The flowers you see on this piece I did not create…they were some I’ve had for quite a while and figured I would use them……

The buttons create a heart shape…(this idea I love…)  It was an idea I found off Pinterest!!!  Isn’t that site AMAZING!!! LOL  So many gorgeous gorgeous pieces others create!!!! I think the button heart is my favorite part of this piece!!!

So…..the next thing I worked on is a Tag Swap in the ARTHaven group….This was to be something reflecting Valentine’s day…..I love how it ended……was nothing like I had originally envisioned…LOL.. don’t you just love how that happens!!!   Now I DID create the long stem roses for this piece……I colored them with Jumbo Java Chalk ink on the edges and spritzed with some of my homemade spritzers with Pearl Ex, Pump Hairspray and Worn Lipstick Distress Reinkers…….

The rhinestones were clear….on the ribbon slide and half the rhinestones on the swirles…..I colored them with alcohol markers to match the colored ones I also used…..they turned out perfect….it’s a nice way to be able to custom color things to get the perfect color you need…..Just thought I would throw that out there….

Now I KNOW some of you are going to fall in love with the “torn” notebook paper cut file I’ve made……I can’t take credit for creating this file….Our Paulo made this a while back….it’s it AWESOME!!!!!  If you want the file for yourself…you can find it on his site here…. http://scale-files.blogspot.com/2009/10/nbpaper-piece.html …..Oh yeah…if you’ve not been to his site before….Just let me tell you to be prepared…You are going to be AWED!!!! He’s SO gifted and an amazing person to  boot!!!!
Ok….now I have one more piece to share with you…I needed to make a card/envie for a swap in ARTHaven…..I had drawn a blank when it came to this…LOL…..so I tried to use scrap papers to create this……after playing around I did come up with something I’m quite happy with……

Got a lot of bling going on don’t I!!! LOL  But I just loved it when I did it!!!  Now…I did not make the flower on this piece…but isn’t it AWESOME!!! My very dear friend…Angie Hall Haviland made these…and I just HAD to buy some from her……I LOVE them….You can check out her shop here…. http://www.etsy.com/people/AngieHallHaviland  She is SUCH a gifted ARTist….I just can’t say that enough….
Okie Dokie….That catches me up for the night!!! It felt SO AWESOME to play with paper…..And I can’t THANK YOU all enough for coming by to visit with me to check it out..I really hope you like what I’ve shared…..I also hope you will come by to visit with me again soon…I would like to wish you all a very blessed week!!!! Until next time…
